About Jake Chasan

Jake is currently studying Economics with a Finance Concentration and Computer Science at Duke University. Since 2017, Jake has worked at Cisco Systems as an analyst, inventing a cost-saving procedure for creating programs which is currently pattent pending. In 2016 Jake became a Registered Securities Representative by passing his Series 7 licensure exam (FINRA BrokerCheck). Since 2015, he has worked for Independent Financial as a Summer Analyst. Jake is focusing his studies on the intersection and integration of computer science and finance.

Jake's technology services began in 2008 through developing and launching over 40 websites, 15 apps, and plugin code for other developers. Jake is an Oracle Certified Java Programmer, the founding Captain of the Bishop’s School U.S. Cyber Patriot Cyber Security Team, and the winner of the 2014 Congressional House App Challenge.

Jake has had industry experience with product delivery in languages including C, Java, Swift, Objective C, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and PHP. He has had extensive experience with the following operating systems: iOS, macOS, watchOS, tvOS, Android, Windows, Windows Server, and Linux. Jake is versed in Schwab StreetSmart Edge/Pro, Merrill Edge Market Pro, Quicken; Adobe Creative Cloud, Photoshop, Dreamweaver, Illustrator, Brackets, Microsoft Office Windows, Xcode, Android Studio, Eclipse, Netbeans, and GIT.

Through active involvement in his community, Jake achieved his Eagle Scout in 2012 and three Eagle Palm Awards in 2013. He earned the Congressional Gold Medal Award in 2015. From 2008 to 2016, through activities such as volunteering at the San Diego Model Rail Road Museum and the UCSD Department of Linguistics, he earned the Presidential Service Gold Award. He had the honor to present the SignWriting app for ASL sign language students at the 2014 International SignWriting Symposium.
